Telehealth
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth services provide established patients an alternative to traditional in-person care delivery. Through Telehealth, the patient and clinician connect through real-time audio and video technology. This service is often covered by insurance companies and employer-sponsored health plans. Contact your insurance provider to verify that Telehealth is covered under your plan. Patients can also pay for this service out of pocket - contact us about our sliding scale price.
Benefits of Telehealth:
- No transportation time or costs
- Reduced wait time
- More detailed and personalized care compared to a telephone call
When Should I Use Telehealth?
Telehealth services should be used when a patient needs to contact their health care provider about personal health information, lab results, prescription management or follow-up care that may not need a physical, in-person exam.
However, Telehealth is not suited for needs such as physical examinations and lab testing. Additionally, it cannot be used for new-patient evaluations.
